Tudor Feasting and an Easter eggs-travaganza

What a fantastic end of term we've had in 4.3!

As you may know, this term we've been studying the Tudors in year 4. Our class did some fantastic home projects, which are now on display outside our classroom. Have a look!

We also visited Harvington Hall (check out the galleries on this website).

To mark the end of our topic, we held an extravagant banquet this afternoon where we ate Tudor food we prepared in school including Elizabethan cake, tarts, loaves and marzipan sweets. We also dressed up in our Tudor best!

Emmanouil enjoyed tucking into some tarts

The excitement didn't end there! At the end of the day, the whole school did an Easter Bonnet parade around Whittington Oval.

Finally, a big congratulations to Jessica, Tegan and Troy for winning the Easter egg competition today! Well done!

That's all from us at 4.3 for this term. We hope you all have a fantastic Easter break!

*Stars* of the week 23/03

We're a talented bunch here in 4.3. Have a look at some of our fantastic achievements of the week!

A BIG congratulations to this weeks 100% spellers, you have made it to the wall of fame! :)

A good effort from this week's most improved spellers. All your hard work is paying off.

Last but not least, a special mention to Jessica Dickens of our class who was awarded the Super Scientist award for some fantastic work and scientific investigations. Excellent work, Jess, keep it up!

Well done everyone!

Eclipse-Mania!

We've all gone a bit eclipse-crazy here at The Oval! This morning, our class and the rest of the entire school had the chance to look at the solar eclipse from our playground! We had to wear dark glasses to protect our eyes from the sun. The eclipse happened because the moon is directly between the sun and earth, so it casts a shadow. We saw this shadow through our super cool solar shades. Take a look!

We knew all about what an eclipse is, not only because of our fantastic science lesson but because yesterday we were lucky enough to have a visit from the Planetarium, where we learnt all about  our world, the stars and other planets.

Red Nose Day 2015

Phew! It's been a busy day here at 4.3 this Red Nose Day! We watched a video about Ngoza and other children in Africa and learnt more about why this day is so important.

We then bought some books from the school book fair and in the afternoon, even wore our red noses whilst making Mother's Day cards!

Kadence even dressed her doll up in red!
